Access traffic

Once you order a virtual server, it becomes a part of the physical machine, which in turn is connected to Internet via 10/100 Mps Ethernet link and multi-Gigabit link to Internet backbone. Theoretically your virtual server can use this entire link for data transfer, but in practice this makes only a small part of the possible bandwidth.

Traffic load (this includes HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP and POP3 protocols) is constantly logged and later analyzed to count the total amount of traffic used by your server. This way you will be always charged only for the amount you have actually used. Calculated traffic is rounded up to gigabytes.

Traffic statistics can be found in the Control Center: http://www.hostex.net/cgi-bin/cspanel/server/svif.cgi.

We also provide a tool for traffic load monitoring purposes "Notification of exceeded In/Out traffic",which notifies you by e-mail when In/Out traffic exceeds specified limit. That tool is free and can be found at Server Control Center, under "Resource Management" section.
